RIP John le Carre
-
One of my favourite writers, although I must admit I frequently had to read the book twice before I could figure out what the hell was going on.
-
Ditto.
Tinker Taylor especially remains a solid favourite which I've re-read a number of times, and is inextricably linked in my mind to the superb BBC version shown back in '79 with Sir Alec in the lead role.
The quality of every scene shines, perfectly capturing the tensions, bluffs and silences in le Carre's written world.
RIP. -
One of the few prolific authors that I can confidently say I’ve read every book he has written, and several including the karla trilogy multiple times.

I loved the Karla trilogy. There was this sort of damp grubbiness to everything that felt so completely British.
