    Seeing this:

Made me want to ask you about the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine.

Is there much national pride there for having developed the first vaccine approved to western standards?

Do people call it the Pfizer vaccine? Or the BioNTech vaccine?

So let’s see who is the first on the forum to get vaccinated.

Word here is Pfizer will be available for health care workers here next week.

Btw if u recall I was found to be IgA positive but IgG negative about six months ago. I’m repeating my serology this week just to see where I stand before getting vaccinated.

Be that as it may, bibi wants to start mass vaccinations here by dec 20. Estimated 40000 per day. That’s 200K per week. 800k per month. Population 8 million. We should start seeing a decline in infections within a few months. Herd immunity at 70% or so. First note of optimism felt here in a while.

        I suspect you're #1.

We'll have 39,000 doses here in state next week, but I suspect most of the allocation will be to healthcare in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and the hotspot, Monroe.

          Some.

The media usually call it the Biontech/Pfizer vaccine.

People complain that we were the first to find a vaccine but seem to be the last to make it accessible to the public.

Relieved that people take seriously now the need to get everyone vaccinated as soon as possible. These last steps in the US that have amounted to a week longer than necessary in a world crisis has been hard to watch. Time to measure excess deaths due to slow rollout.
