How the hell did a thread about Trump turn into a discussion of a 12 year old thread on this board? Amazing.

FWIW, I think Dewey rocks. Probably in contrast to many of you, I met him personally. It's amazing how many of you judge him based on a few bits of coarse-grained information, without knowing any of the details.

lol, "the details are in the personal meeting". You are a target.

Hu? No idea what you are talking about.

Meeting somebody personally gives a different and wider perspective on a person than merely chatting on a public internet forum. It gives a better approximation of that person's character.

Which, by the way, is a reason why I don't understand why a few of us never want to meet or see anyone else from the forum. Makes me wonder whether they pretend to be something different from what they really are.

Yup, its ironic that the loudest voices here have never made known their face. Yet we have to accept them when for all we know, they are Russians here only to stir the pot and make us vote for Trump. Its a thing you know?

    I confess.

You laugh, but anybody remember Angelique? (I think that was her name) A couple of posters were clearly considering marriage proposals before finding out she was actually a gentlemen in his late middle age.

The symmetry of this thread is magnificent. Carry on..

Reminded me of an old comedy film series, Carry On...
one was called 'Carry on Regardless'.
There were 31 Carry On films made, I wonder if they'll make a 32nd in honour of Trump.
What would a good title be?

Not sure of the title, but I definitely want him to be played by Kenneth Williams or Charles Hawtrey.

                  A deliciously hilarious casting.

How should they cast Sid James? As a kid he reminded me of our neighbour two houses over. He was a true cockney, born and raised in east London before the war.

This doesn't happen most places. It takes old, passionate assholes that are utterly convinced they are right about whatever we are talking about.

Except for Jon. Or maybe Klaus. They're not as old as the rest of us. They're just passionate assholes.

You know who I remember? The guy on PW that was always shilling for Perzina pianos. Don't remember his name, but I remember his awkward speech patterns and how Perzinas (nice piano that they are) were every bit as good as Faziolis. "Try! You will SEE!".

Sid James would do a good Steve Bannon, or possibly Hillary. However, I think Hillary would be best played by the sadly very recently departed Barbara Windsor.

This could be a great walk down memory lane if we quit beating on the absent.

Was that Kassman? He went by "master88er" on PW.

@horace Might have been. Can't remember. He passed himself off as a retired professor as I recall.

@mik Wouldn't have been Kassman then.

                                        Just reading through this now.

Yea i was the reason he left.

But honestly the only thing I have a clear memory of is posting a shitload of barge images.

And now every time I see a picture, or for that matter, a real barge, I think of that incident.
