Next time you kick yourself about a missed opportunity

George in 1997: "John, I let you handle my money, and I've never asked to buy or sell something, but I'd like to buy $10,000 of Apple.
John: "Not a good idea. Who knows if this company will even be around in two years? I think it's a mistake."
George: "I'm only 47, and I can absorb the loss, right?
John: "OK, but against my better advice."
We switched brokers to Fidelity about 2 years later, and all that stuff was rolled over into IRAs at Fidelity, so I really don't know how much of my stake is due to that purchase of Apple.

I remember reading way back that in 2000 (for example) if you had USD $3000, would you buy a new Apple computer or buy USD $3000 in Apple stock.
Depend on which choice you made, after 20 years, you would have a long forgotten computer or $$$$.
Lol
