Well, that’s an expression. What I mean is our electoral institutions have withstood Trump’s brazen and sustained effort to undermine them.

Which is not to say he didn’t do them damage. Perhaps even permanent damage. Only time will tell.

I'm going to remember you said that Jon, and as each hard left policy kicks in, I'm going to remind you of it.

I think the undermining happened with the democrats theft of the election.

(Re your post about hard left policy): Well that would be entirely beside the point. As I’m speaking here specifically of Trump’s attempt to overturn an election.

                  Recall Andrew McCarthy’s words:

it is highly unlikely — I am tempted to say inconceivable — that the Supreme Court would agree to hear that case.

                  Speaking of Andrew McCarthy...

I heard Charles C. W. Cook, the English editor of National Review online, say that he knew the “stop the steal” movement was farcical based on the dog that didn’t bark - Andrew McCarthy.

As he put it (paraphrasing), had there been any “there” there, Andrew would have seized on it and never let go, like the Irish pit bull that he is.

If the election is fraudulent, and anyone with an ounce of sense knows it is, then it SHOULD be overturned.

                      No, you were.

Tell me Jon, how is it that Biden had absolutely NO coat tails? Tell me how he didn't come even close to matching Hillary or Obama anywhere across the country, except for 4 democrat districts in 4 swing states, where he just blew the doors off of hilkary and obama, yet none of the down ballot democrats in those districts saw anywhere near the kind of turnout Biden got?

You are the one who's been played... lol

Republicans outperformed Trump and Democrats underperformed Biden. Trump is uniquely polarizing as you know. You don't even have to leave this board to find conservatives who despise him. And we all know many, perhaps even most votes for Biden were votes against Trump.

I myself voted GOP for the house seat and Biden at the top of the ticket.

(another consideration is Democrats had a phenomenal 2018 result, so there was some mean regression going on)

Your other contention about Biden only outperforming 2016 in 4 districts is demonstrably false. Here's a map that shows relative blue or red shift of counties across the country.

                        alt text

And his biggest gains were in the suburbs, not in the cities. In fact PA showed a net shift to Trump in the inner cities but a shift to Biden in the burbs.

                        So yeah, you were played.

By the way, as I googled up the data about blue and red shift, I was reminded that this is how it goes arguing with any conspiracy theorist. They make a claim, you show them its false, then they just pretend it didn't happen and make some other false claim.

Like with some 9/11 truther, at some point you find yourself researching the tensile strength of steel at 400C and ask yourself "WTF am I doing?"
