You're absolutely right.
It's still completely irrational and insane that he's this internet famous, even for 15 minutes.
My point is that there's still a reason for that, and it has nothing to do with his videography acumen, which is none, nor does it have to do with how depraved or tasteless you think society is. It fills some kind of real need. It's not fun to say, because it's not fun to give credit to people we think are talentless, crude assholes, but I've already said it has nothing to do with him at all.

I agree with Aqua’s take.
He’s like a great photo, he captured a moment that was entirely relevant for the American psyche. Kids know all about this video.
The odds are against him but maybe he can do it again.
