Good article and makes a lot of good points. Makes me think.
Like most things, it is not a one solution is the answer.
Stop racism, everything will get better. No, not necessarily.
Increase black students grades, everything will get better. No, not necessarily. To me at least, it is a combination.
I do believe that you have to take some responsibility for who are are. Everything cannot be placed on another person.

I can speak to the tech industry. Blacks are underrepresented because they don't go into that field, by and large. It's getting more frequent, but they just flat out were not there to be had. Whose fault is that? It's not difficult to get technical training, either through colleges, junior colleges, tech colleges, private schools or even for free online. No way you can claim racism there.

I always thought that X% of kids (10?, 15?, 20?) will succeed no matter what. How they grow up. Opportunities or no opportunities, etc.
X% of kids (again, 10, or 20, or whatever) will fail no matter what. How they grow up. Opportunities, etc.
It is the middle X% (40, 50, 60, whatever) where environment, parents, role models, even racism, make a difference.

The NBA is primarily made up of black players. So is the NFL.
They are simply better athletes.
Which brings up a question...Used to be a lot more black baseball players than now. What happened?
