I have direct experience with the oculus rift but not the others, it has been great. Just went down a rabbit hole looking at the differences. My conclusion is as follows , I would pick what he wants as I can’t see a huge difference and would ask what his friends use as another validation of what to buy. This stuff is a PIA to move around.

I will also be looking into this as soon as I figure out which graphics card I can actually purchase.
The new Nvidia cards dropped the USB C connector for video which, if I remember correctly, certain VR headsets use. The new AMD Radeon cards retain the USB C video out port.
I haven't done a lot of research yet, just some casual reading here and there.
Whatever it turns out to be, it has to work with the RC Heli Simulators.
