Good, we will need some very high estimates so president Harris can look good when she singlehandedly cures us all.

        US Projection: 538,893 deaths
        US Population: 331,845,944

        0.0016 ratio

        UK Projection: 118,674 deaths
        UK Population: 67,886,004

        0.0017 ratio

        That's of course a projection.

        Actual data show this:

        Screen Shot 2020-12-05 at 6.41.51 AM.png

        US Deaths/100K people: 84.7
        UK Deaths/100K people: 91.2

So, perhaps a little introspection is in order.

I suspect it is pretty comparable worldwide if the same criteria were used, and possibly adjusted for quality/quantity of healthcare.

I'd put in a "Western World" caveat. Asian countries are generally more capable of containing these things for a variety of reasons.

I would also add in quality/quantity of testing and diagnosis and the standards of information. There seems to be some indication that we are counting cases of "Died with COVID" as "Died from COVID"

Yes, they can contain the reporting. That is so much easier than containing the disease.

But we have learned a lot in recent years are catching up quickly.

Disagree with you a little bit there copper. I think the main difference is that in Asian countries, there is more of a “society” mindset, rather than an “individual” mindset.

This makes it easier, to have rules like mask wearing, or something like that, which as is being seen in the US, I think it have hurt the overall response to Covid.

I agree. I would also look at age demographics, obesity and heart disease.
