At what point did a criminal investigation into Manafort become appropriate and what’s the date on this note?

If you hire a guy who launders money from a hostile state and the FBI investigates him, is that the same as the FBI investigating you?

Was Manafort tried for Russian collusion?

Is that the only thing the FBI is allowed to prosecute?

Of course not and Manafort deserved to go to jail. You know taking money from Ukraine like that is a terrible thing. We knew at the time others had flogged the Ukraine pinniata, we just didn’t know everyone who did and now we don’t care who. Curious.

So the FBI started investigating Manafort in 2014.

I don’t think anyone here believes the FBI should stop investigating someone once a campaign hires them.

FBI investigated grifter scum. Seems like that’s why we pay them.

Maybe the problem is Donald Trump hiring grifter scum? Even if, as the Victorians might say, he’s behaving no better than he ought to.

Perhaps but the embezzlement, bank fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy are the things that the court cares about.

It’s always been a safe place for you to argue from, even the scope of the Mueller investigation.

Just stay away from ethics and perception, US had a history too with encroachment of the FBI in our lives and Hunter type behavior. All this was magically suspended of late for one side.

You really think the FBI opening an investigation on Paul Manafort in 2014 was that portentous?

Probably seemed like pretty workaday stuff to them at the time and entirely uncontroversial.

Again, maybe the problem was Trump hiring him.

I mean, yeah, scorpions being scorpions and all. But still.

So I forgot that part. Gates and Page too. 2013 even. Good point.

Don't think Trump ever hired any of the Bidens...

So you’re adding evidence to support the fact that the Bidens aren’t “grifter scums”. Good show, @Jolly.
