Finley’s working on building a strong immune system...

Everything goes straight to his frigging mouth. I had pulled a string of lights from outside that had gone bad so I can fix them. Set them on the table, run to the closet to grab by bulb tester, come back and he’s pulled them to the floor and is sucking on the connector... Sigh... Shove another teaspoon of Liquid C with a drop of Liquid D down his throat and hope for the best...

These lights were in the attic where we had squirrels this summer... Shudder....

That is funny. I was reading an article that the immune system of kids who either grow up in the country or are from less developed countries are better because of their exposure to things while they are young.
Modern houses in developed countries are so well designed that people in side are not exposed to things that would help their immune system.

Let them eat dirt.
And I mean that totally seriously. If you put them in a bubble, you are not helping them - at all.

Have a friend from the Indian subcontinent who joked that because many Indians grew up in (what we Americans would deem) unsanitary environments, they figure they would have higher resistance to the novel coronavirus too! (And back in March/April, that was not too bad of a joke because COVID-19 has not become a big problem in India at that time.)

We grew up in dirt, weeds, creek water, fish guts, dead critters, snakes and cowpies. Pretty stout immune systems we.
Very true. I do wonder a little if not being out and about is weakening my immune system. It’s world is about 1/10 of what it’s ever known.

It takes a very long time for something like that to happen. Much, much longer than a few months.
