        I think there might be confusion about how the president of the United States is elected.

        It is not by that kind of vote. Not at all.

        This should have been presented in civics class.

            Hm, that's interesting. So he profited less from the electoral college system in 2020 than in 2016. It suggests that he either gained votes where he was already strong in 2016 (but got no additional EC seats), or that he gained votes in places where he was weak in 2016 but even with the additional votes not strong enough to gain a seat. I guess it's more of the former.
