I've watched all the Craig Bond films over the past months. They are very entertaining.
The first is probably the best. In fact, I think his version of Casino Royale is in the top three or four.
Now, we have a black, female 007.
Let's all get woke and go broke...

Here's CNET's bad-to-best ratings of all the Bond movies: https://www.cnet.com/pictures/james-bond-movies-ranked-best-and-worst-from-sean-connery-to-daniel-craig/
It includes memory lane photos of people like Christopher Lee (the best voice in Hollywood, IMO), the terrifying Grace Jones, and Donald Pleasance.

Somewhere, I read that Pierce Brosnan's contract with the Bond franchise had a clause in it that, while under contract, he could not appear in any other film while wearing a tuxedo.
So, when he did "The Thomas Crown Affair" (Oh, Renee Russo....that dress!!), in the scenes at the party, his bowtie is not properly tied, making the "tuxedo" not a tuxedo.

Brosnan would have been Bond much sooner, but he couldn't get out of the Remington Steele contract.
I find it interesting that Commander Bond has been played by guys who were Scot, Irish and Welch.

At least they're not just recasting it without explanation. If they want to pass the torch they are welcome to, and we are welcome to not watch. In fairness, I don't think I've seen a Bond movie in a theater since I was 10 years old.

The problem with this is how do they then go on with Bond movies? I understand the socio-political ramifications, but it still makes no sense. It's like every city in the US has a Martin Luther King named street. It's window dressing, a cheap sop that doesn't require anyone to actually do anything to improve the situation. Making movie characters lack and tearing down Confederate statues does not a thing to improve the lot of a kid in the city growing up believing they have no future and that conventional success is being too white.

At least he didn't say Scotch.
