Sen. Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania:

Christie. National embarrassment.

"This is the 'OJ in the Bronco' stage of Trump's presidency":
Yep. With his fate following behind, as relentless and inevitable as the wedge of police cars that followed OJ.
It is not so much that he won't concede; it's that he can't. He can't admit failure. He's in a terrible place right now. If he weren't such a carbuncle on the ass of America, you could almost feel sorry for him. The pressure must be nearly unendurable.
-
I don’t think he feels pressure. Out golfing all the time. I think just resigned to his fate.
-
GOP rep Fred Upton from Michigan.
“The voters have spoken.”
“It’s over”

Are they swimming in de Nile?

Are they swimming in de Nile?
Wildebeests crossing the Serengeti. First one does it, then a couple and then it’s a rampage. This is the week.

I think some of the big elephants may still be stuck in the swamp.

So you are predicting that Trump becomes a national joke as a result of these last couple of weeks? You say no method to the madness? Just want to see your convictions.

It really does depend on how he handles the next one or two months. In the Republic party, no matter what he does, there will still be a % of population that adores him and thinks he is the greatest thing.
There is the middle % of people in the party who tolerate him, but know that right now, he has a tremendous amount of power inside the party. They need to be careful, because they do not want to make the "adoring" % mad at them, as that can have a huge impact during primary elections. However, if President Trump handles the next one or two months very poorly (actively trying to stop transition, making executive orders that make no sense, firing people that should not be fired, pardoning himself, etc.), then the above middle % will start to put country before party and turn there back on him.
In the end, I think President Trump will do some sort of halfway transition, not really helping but not obvious "roadblock" to it. He will then move into media or speaking - allows him to get the adores of his people without the negatives. I think he hopes that he can become a "kingmaker" behind the scenes. In my opinion, I dont think that will happen.

No, I think the GOP will move on as quickly as possible. No one will speak ill of him, everyone will remember what he has accomplished (and politically, that is a LOT, both in terms of policy and elections), but he will not be a spokesman or kingmaker. The party has some very attractive 2024 candidates in the wings.
Mike Pence will play a more prominent role than most think he will. he won't be the 2024 nominee, but he has done a very honorable job as VP under difficult conditions. That should be remembered. I would guess he will end up in the Senate.

The trick will be to make sure that base continues to come out and vote. Trump knows that is his only value so he will have a significant herding function until the GOP figures out how to corral that base on their own or diversify their base or some of each.

I've long since stopped making serious predictions about this shit show. However freaking nuts you think it is, The Don and Rudy show always seems to find a way to go one better.
The comment about the elephants in the swamp was meant as a joke. I know, I know, it's hard to tell the difference.

The party has the base's attention at the moment, The trick is to retain that while elevating the dialogue to be attractive to the independents too.
