In the comments they clarify it’s a staffing issue not physical beds.

    You were warned.

      Ah. That's interesting.

You can have all the ventilators (ICU beds, infusion pumps, etc) in the world.

But if there's not enough staff to run them, it's irrelevant.

          Go here

          https://www.azdhs.gov/preparedness/epidemiology-disease-control/infectious-disease-epidemiology/covid-19/dashboards/index.php

Click "Hospital Bed Usage & Availability"

          See the chart

It looks like between 10% and 12% of Arizona ICU beds are available

            Yes.

But my implied point was that all the PPE and other "stuff" you need doesn't matter if you don't have the bodies to take care of the sick.

@George-K yup. I agree. You and I posted at the same time. I was actually doing a response to John’s post.

                On PPE -

Is there a national stockpile now? Or will states start to bid against each other for it?

Do states have their own stockpiles?

                  No, there is not enough.

The average person doesn't have a clue how fast a hospital staff can go through PPE when taking care of a lot of infectious patients, even when relaxing protocols, like number of times using a N95.
