“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

We’re definitely living through a political realignment, as I’ve said for a few years now. But we’ll see how it shakes out.

      You were warned.

Does this qualify as a shift to some socialist tenets across both parties?

The article mentions protectionism for labor and emphasis of social programs (social security, Medicare)

Social security and Medicare are not free.

I have paid into both for over 40 years. I pay a (non-cheap) Medicare premium every month.

The term "Medicare for All" is a lie. When they say this they pretend that Medicare is a free handout program from the government. It is not.

"Medicare for All" is not the same as the Medicare I have funded for over 40 years.

[Ax-mode enabled] Actually, everything is funded by US taxpayers. You don't need to be a citizen to contribute. [/Ax-mode]

              I was only joking

                No

There is a difference between paying an insurance premium for my own individual coverage and having the government just give it away to everyone, most of whom pay nothing
