In general, if you put a trailer hitch on a new car does that void the power train warranty?

I dunno how they can tell if you overdid it . Most cars have an explicit tow rating (even family sedans), so towing in and of itself shouldn’t void your warranty.

I’m not worried about overdoing it. I only want a high capacity bike carrier.

That should definitely not invalidate your warranty.

Check the owner's manual and plate on your car. The plate is usually on the driver's side pillar.

            An explanation:

As long as you stay within capacities, your warranty is fine.

Why would ANYONE put a trailer hitch on a Vette?
