Why can't one of the most technologically adept countries in the world, with all the assets of Silicon Valley, hold a free, fair election with no hint of fraud?

Which brings up another question...Why can't a Democrat city seem to count the damn votes? (BTW, that was a Ted Cruz quote).

Technology is neither the problem nor the solution.

It is up to the cities and states to control their elections, there are no national elections, nor should there be.

Most current systems are fine, fraud is rare.

If there is fraud to be found, I expect it will be found soon.

I suspect there will be very little hard evidence. They're too smart for that.

I agree we should clean up the process everywhere.

We could obviously do it, just need the political will.

I’ll admit, we don’t have absentee voting, and we have to present our ID card. Only diplomatic personal working abroad send in mail ballots.

Then you have a better system than we do.

We have technology that allows us to unlock a cellphone with a thumbprint. But we have to put a ballot in the mail, and hope it's not tampered with or cast fraudently.

That's how much the world's greatest republic values its citizen's votes.

I come from a state with a long history of voting fraud. Some folks around here are so jubilant their horse won, they don't care about free and fair elections. I do.

I've stated many times, I agree with the founder's, the franchise is special. I don't mind early or absentee voting, but I detest mail-in ballots. If you can't be bothered to physically show up someplace and cast your vote, I don't think you should be allowed to cast one in some other fashion.

I think the main rationale for mail ballots this year was Covid.

I doubt that the huge amount of mail voting would have happened without the pandemic.
