Liberals are anti-Israel and are increasingly seeing Jews as part of the white privilege "question." Not hard to connect the dots.

This is probably the greatest flip in my lifetime.

Aqua, can you expand on that a bit, if you feel like it.
Why does anyone hold anything against Jews these days. I honestly don't understand it.
The Jewish people have been a strong support for Democrats for years (don't understand that either).
Why would Liberals, or perhaps more accurately "far-left" or "radical left" have anything against the State of Israel? The only person I have known that hated Jews, was my dad. He was in the wehrmacht in WWII, plus having personal stories of his encounter with Jews, but overall it was a subject I never asked about, because he would become unhinged. He was a rather angry man to begin with, so as his son, I knew which subjects to definitely avoid.

It's funny, my Jewish friends are about the most liberal people I know. Not hard left types, but liberals. I don't have any hard-left types as friends. They're generally rather dull.

If anybody has been persecuted through the years, it has been the Jews.

Yeah, you can add that to my list of questions.
Interesting you (generic you) absolutely cannot make fun of anyone e.g., women, muslims, POC's, etc. But there is no such sensitivity towards saying things about Jews. Go figure I guess. Not much makes sense these days. -

Certainly around here if you made tasteless remarks about Jews it wouldn't go down at all well. I'm sure there are areas where anti-Semitic jokes would be ok, just as there are areas where making jokes about blacks is fine.

I dunno. I know very few Jewish folks so I'm not at all an authority. But stuff like this is darkly fascinating:

Thanks, Aqua.
I think everyone would enjoy the article as well, worth the read.
Just a cut & paste to give an idea of the tenor of the article:
"Over the past few decades and with increasing velocity over the last several years, a determined young cohort has captured nearly all of the institutions that produce American cultural and intellectual life. Rather than the institutions shaping them, they have reshaped the institutions. You don’t need the majority inside an institution to espouse these views. You only need them to remain silent, cowed by a fearless and zealous minority who can smear them as racists if they dare disagree."
