Although most of our tea is quaffed with spoonful of demerara in it, we have some white needle and a dedicated brown 'artisan' teapot. Ours is maybe half the size of yours with some of chinese characters and I have a sneaking suspician they say something like 'The smaller our pot, the more you pay'.

Cool! And yep, that's indeed what they say. 😊 Do you know what kind of clay? Mine's a no-frills Yixing Zisha pot that holds about 200ml. It seems to be great for pu'er and dark oolongs.

      Please love yourself.

Can't remember exactly, but it's made in mainland China and the clay takes on the flavour of the tea, so we've only used it for silver needle. Second or third brewing is best.

Oolong is brewed in an ordinary pot. Wife takes green tea occasionally as medicine.
We buy Tetleys by the sackful. Common as muck 🤣

@AndyD The teapot is kind of hard to read, but the characters on the side, is a poem, and it is supposed to rhyme.

Reading from right to left on the top, the first character is rain, then clear, then I think practice, and the last one is hard to tell. Reading from right to left on the top, the first character is rain, then clear, then I think practice, and the last one is hard to tell.(Maybe intern?)

The bottom of the teapot, you are correct, is the maker.

That is very kind of you to try to read and translate from my inadequate photography. It's nearly 30 years since my in-laws took us to the shop in Malaysia. I'll add a few better snaps of the writing which I find rather beautiful.
