I have a question - are you the only one outside TNCR who uses the 55555 thing? I am curious, because slang and how it travels interests me.

In 8th grade a friend and I started various slang terms that stuck all over town. Over the years it expanded to be almost a language unto itself. We could carry on a conversation in front of the uninitiated and they would have no idea what we were talking about. By the time I moved to a city 40 miles away, some of my new friends became acquainted with my old friends and started picking up the slang terms. It got so pervasive in the new city that within a few years people I didn't even know were using it publicly. Blew my mind.

I'm curious about if we started using it say on FB, how far woud it spread? I just want to make sure it's not already a widespread thing. I hadn't seen it, so it may be overseas but not in the US.

Any influences from Clockwork Orange? 😁 That is THE book to learn about context clues.

In college, I sent a letter to Merriam-Webster lobbying to get about a dozen words into the dictionary. Their editorial staff read the freaking letter and the senior editor wrote me a letter back. I really wish I still had it.

I remember some of the words, though.

        Please love yourself.

No, but I love, love, love how Burgess created that world and the similarities were not lost on me. I think I have read every book he wrote, most of them in 1980.

The number 55555 represents passion, progression, and multiplicity. If you take heed to the message your angel is trying to tell you, a positive change awaits you. Often, these changes are difficult to make. You may need to sacrifice certain pleasures, say goodbye to certain people or quit a job you love.

This is a number to be taken seriously.

Alright, this is my prediction for the national popular vote shares (not counting any third party of votes): Biden’s 55.555% to Trump’s 44.444%.

555 is quite common in Thailand, so I think that Thai people use it often frequently.

But, I dont think it has gone out of Thailand yet unless maybe corresponding with a overseas Thai person.

(and when I say yet, it is because you have not had the chance to spread it!! 555)
