Cool.
This is good news:
Results showed no significant difference in virologic or clinical efficacy between the REGN-COV2 high dose (8 grams) and low dose (2.4 grams).
It means more people can get this sooner.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has given the green light for emergency use of Regeneron’s COVID-19 antibody drug — the same treatment given to President Trump.
The treatment is aimed at those with mild cases of COVID-19, and not for those hospitalized as a result of the virus, the FDA said.
The treatment works by mimicking the body’s own immune system to prevent the infected from become severely ill.
Regeneron’s drug is a combination of two monoclonal antibodies. A similar drug developed by Eli Lilly & Co. gained FDA emergency clearance earlier this month.
However the Regeneron treatment may not be immediately widely available: the company has said it will have just 80,000 doses by the end of November.

Those folks who constantly rail against 'Big Parma' should re-examine their views, in light of the enormous and risky investments these companies have made to combat COVID. Yeah, there may be big payoffs, but that's not the only thing behind this effort, nor is it all Warp Speed funding. Many, like Lily, have taken no federal monies for either development or ramping up production facilities in advance. Their only payoff will be in guaranteed government purchases should they be successful. If they are not successful they stand to lose billions.

Yup. Not to mention it’s only 10% of our total healthcare cost. Big bad Pharma is another point of reference for misplaced focus and attacks. It’s a problem but not even close to the big ones.

It's a mixed bag. What you said is quite relevant and important. My wife works in pharma. Her company is very much on the level. But I'll happily continue to hate GSK, and will explain my reasoning to anyone.

And yet Trump’s exec order to lower drug prices is entirely petulant to pay back the vaccine companies for “waiting” until after the election to announce their success.
