I assume that is the monthly rate for the parking spot.

That is kind of pricey for the suburbs, it might be ok downtown.

Just stay home and watch the movie on your tablet computer.

You can pause, “rewind”, or fast forward, anytime as you please. Your own couch, sofa, or bed should be more comfortable than the seats on your car. Just watch the movie on your tablet. Not only it is much cheaper, it is also more convenient, and the experience will be superior to watching it in your car at a drive-in theater.

        Seems a little crazy.

And the popcorn is a lot cheaper.

          Probably better too...

ETA: I never understood the appeal of drive-in theaters. The screen is too far away, the audio is horrible. The only advantages are a marginally more comfortable seat and no annoying people around you (other than your kids, of course). I've been to a drive-in only once in my life, and I hated it (I think the movie was "EasyRider").

One good thing about the drive-in was, back when we couldn't afford it, we could watch the movie from the dirt road outside the drive-in fence.

            This was 45 years ago.

Racial stereotypes were generally accepted in impolite company back then. That dirt road was known as the Jew drive-in. Of course we now condemn this sort of reference.

I had an opportunity to buy a working drive in theater back several years ago, but passed on it because of the costs involved in updating the screen and the projector. I think I made the wrong call on that. I bet a good drive in theater showing new releases would go over like crazy now.

By the way.. you make the bulk of your profits from the restaurant.

My mistake... The tickets are for the car, so you buy 1 $40 ticket, then you pay admission for the people at $5, so the total is $60...

I remember drive-ins from when I was a boy. My family went a number of times.

This was before they broadcast the audio on an FM channel. It was that horrid box in the window.

I remember watching That Darn Cat, Herbie Rides Again, and 101 Dalmations in the car.

                    That's more reasonable

They want to disincentivize the kids in the trunk.

Eh, $60 is still a lot for a 30 year old movie that costs them no money...

I thought the point of drive-in theaters was for teenagers to make out with their girlfriends?

                          Covid changes that.

I bet they get a lot of confusion about that.

I saw the same thing as you, I was thinking one ticket per person.
