Canceled...

@nobodyssock This is exactly what I'm talking about.

Yeah, it's a holy crusade for them alright.

Vote Trump.

This would never be happening if Donald Trump were president. Make sure we elect him in two weeks.

Yeah, the idea that Trump is a solution rather than a symptom is a little hard to sustain.

This was all coming down the pike well before The Donald. And I know enough about infantile hissy fits to know you don’t solve the issue by giving them what they want...
The bigger the pendulum shifts, the bigger the return swing. That’s not going to be pretty.

College campuses were well on their way before Trump. It’s quite the argument to say things would be different if not for Trump.
-
Trump didn't create this, he merely accelerated it.
It won't end under Biden either, but it will accelerate less quickly.
Ultimately it'll die out when elites get too afraid of it to remain complacent.

So that is an interesting question. Do the Biden supporters demand the spoils of war or do they lay down their arms? I think going back to work and resuming a life with a purpose will be a big help but I don’t necessarily agree with a natural deceleration.
-
I chose my words quite carefully. I didn't say deceleration.
I don't know why it's controversial to anyone that a polarizing figure on one side of the political isle can make the people on the other side more extreme on an issue.
Look at Democratic attitudes on immigration. Favorable view went up almost 20 points in 2016-2017 - from the mid-60s to the mid-80s. Surely that was a Trump effect.
(even though attitudes had been trending upward for decades - much more slowly)
Maybe you all can't help looking at it through a moral lens and don't want to "blame" Trump for the increased prevalence of views he does not hold, and even despises. But not all causal relationships translate to 'blame'.

Even if true, a lot of people's lives are going to be sacrificed on the altar of wokeness before it gets to that point. I'd rather not take the chance.
And I don't think you're right about a Biden victory helping. I think that's a Chamberlain argument. I could be wrong about that, and it would be a relief, but I doubt it.
