What a load of bullshit that is. The Communists did not "evolve" out of "social democracy" in anything other than name. They were revolutionary communists who killed all the social democrats.
To try and claim that the Soviet Union had liberal values is a complete load of bullshit.
I realise there's an election coming up, but honestly....

I'd probably take your views on social democracy more seriously if your views on democracy didn't appear to involve the support for the imprisonment and deportation of anybody belonging to the opposition party as well as some religious minorities. LOLz

I'm also confused by Putin's suggestion that Russia is still a communist country. The communist era ended in 1991. I wouldn't say that Russia is a free market country - because it isn't - but it certainly isn't communism either.
