Totally hypothetical. He claimed he could, and just threw out Exxon as an example.

How many people do you think this Tweet went through before posting? I'm guessing at least 15.

So in your mind, it doesn't matter that it was clearly a hypothetical and Trump made it clear himself that the call never happened, you still think we should bash Trump about it as if he had actually claimed the call is real...
And you don't see how silly that is?

What Trump described is illegal I think, so Exxon probably just wanted to clarify that they don't do that.

It's not illegal to ask for campaign donations.

Since his point was not to describe an actual situation and he was just riffing during a rally, it doesn't matter one way or the other.

Which Presidents didn't riff about illegal actions at their political rallies, amirite?

What I find so frustrating is that with 3 major scandals going on involving Joe Biden and corruption, one of them possibly the biggest political crime in our nation's history, some ignore that and spend their time continuing to trash Trump.

He wasn't riffing about illegal actions. He was talking about his ability to fund raise. You are the one who decided it was illegal.

He was describing bribes. (Permits for contributions)
The distinction between lobbying and bribing can sometimes be nuanced. Not in this case though.

LOL, I remember one time when Biden was bragging at a rally about getting a prosecutor fired for investigating his son in Ukraine. Good times...
