No, not Kamala and Willie, but Trump Rallys

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

the president’s campaign rallies cannot be tied to spikes in Covid-19 infections in their surrounding areas, if cases in the area even increased, which not all did.

Okay so for one, yes, some of them did increase infection numbers "in the surrounding area." For two, where are these people from? How far do they travel to attend these things?

If true, how do you explain this?
Thousands gathered indoors in Oklahoma’s second-largest city to welcome the president, and statewide new cases were 32% higher one week after the rally. However, cases in Tulsa County actually trended downward during the two weeks after the rally, and a spokesman with the Oklahoma State Department of Health told the Daily Caller that they don’t have “hard data” that connects the rally with any increase in cases.

      See above.

Either they're saying that any mass of maskless people is completely safe, which, okay great, another "media" outlet I can start to ignore, or they're saying that unlike other maskless mass events, Trump rallies are imbued with powerful magicks that protect attendees. Which, okay great, etc.

      Please love yourself.

        They said neither.

What they are saying, is that a Trump Rally does not cause a spike in the immediate area, when compared against the region.

Secondly, Trump Rallys are not maskless. Most wear them, some do not.

They seem to be saying that lack of a mask does not mean infection is certain.

And that wearing a mask is no guarantee of safety.

You can demand certainty all you want.

            That's not how it works.

Seems to me, that rates would spike, near and far.

Personally, I wouldn't be seen dead at any event such as a political rally, or sporting event, or a protest, or any of that shit.

I don't understand why people would risk it.

My kids are going to school, and to work, and I think the benefit for them is worth the risk. Standing in a crowd with your tongue hanging out for some dumb-ass reason isn't.

YMMV, obviously. Particularly, it should be said, if you're a dumbass.

I know, I know, more insults. I'm occasionally impolite, what can I say?

                      I was only joking

Agree with the above, with one addendum: I wouldn't be seen at any of those even if there were not a global pandemic.

Well, that's true for me too. But I'm not eating out, I'm not going to the office, I'm not visiting friends or family, I'm not flying. To counter-balance this, the dog gets a lot of walks, and my bike is going to need an overhaul with the miles I'm putting on it.

Also, I figure if you can't live without going to a political rally then your life has got to be pretty bleak anyway so maybe Covid-19 would come as a bit of a relief.

Lack of masks or even the pandemic generally is not what keeps me away. If that many people can get genuinely excited over the fuckassery that passes for politics today then I might have to revisit my stance on injecting Ritalin in our drinking water.
