Trump “mocks evangelicals behind closed doors”, he “treats the presidency like a business opportunity”, and he “kisses dictator’s butts”.

I remember Ben telegraphing his thoughts a long, long time ago.

Mocks Evangelicals behind closed doors is an interesting one. Do we think Ben is a liar?

Nope. Probably not a lot of trust with a New Yorker to begin with.

I am not sure it is really interesting or surprising. I would be surprised if any religious people thought that President Trump was truly religious.
I think that they "put up with him", but know that he is not one of them.

It would be so out of character for Trump to do that.

The fake Trump narrative is so well known that there is no need for any connection to reality any more.
Just say whatever pops into your head and you instantly believe it.
That is some amazing work by the dem media machine.

Why is it when a Republican or former aide/friend/supporter of President Trump speaks against him, they are immediately label as:
- Never a Republican, just pretended to be
- Never really liked President Trump. They were always looking for an opportunity to do him bad
- I knew all along that they were no good
- They never knew what they were talking about. They were always suspicious even when they talked good about President Trump
5.etc
At some point, a person has to give some credibility to the hundreds of former President staff, former high ranking republics

Jesus. If you can't even figure THAT out on your own it's no wonder you don't understand the more complex stuff.

I think she knows the answer (rank tribalism bordering on hero worship), she’s just lamenting it.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, a devout Christian, a woman who would not compromise her convictions for anyone including Trump, a woman who worked with Trump daily and knows what he said behind closed doors, supports him 100% - vs a guy from Nebraska who probably has never even met the president, much less spent any time around him....
And some of you fools choose to take his word as truth.....
It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

And we should take his word over theirs.... why?

Because it tickles Jon's ears...

I can’t log in to the old site anymore to search, but I’m confident there are quite a few posts over there praising Sasse from the same people bashing him.

Could be.
When somebody is right, they're right. When they're wrong, they're wrong.
This is an election year. Party unity is paramount for victory.

One thing you will not find in DC is consistency.

So, if the President agrees with them, they are right.
If he doesn’t, they are wrong. LOL
President Trump 2019 tweet about Senator Sasse
“Senator Ben Sasse has done a wonderful job representing the people of Nebraska. He is great with our Vets, the Military, and your very important Second Amendment. Strong on Crime and the Border, Ben has my Complete and Total Endorsement!“
