On Bret Weinstein's podcast yesterday, they spent some time talking about the medication Ivermectin. Low cost, known for a long time, free in 19 African countries. They were pissed that Twitter pulled all links to the article.
Ivermectin. Weinstein is no dummy, nor is his wife Heather. Both hold Ph.D.'s in biology. Everything is politicized, and then follow the money if you can, and try to combine the two while the media ignores all, and social media is policed on what is allowed to be covered. Jesus.
Ivermectin. Anybody heard of it, especially you docs? Hope I spelled it right.

@rainman based on what I just read, it’s approved for use in humans for external parasites like head lice. It’s used for internal parasites (worms and bots) in horses. Possible Human side effects :
Some of the side-effects that may be associated with ivermectin include skin rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, facial or limb swelling, neurologic adverse events (dizziness, seizures, confusion), sudden drop in blood pressure, severe skin rash potentially requiring hospitalization and liver injury (hepatitis). Laboratory test abnormalities include decrease in white cell count and elevated liver tests.

So in other words, perfect!
Thanks, Jodi. I wish I could find the link to the article. I'll try. -

The treatment has been talked about for two or three months, at least.

Ivermectin
"Paul Marik, MD, FCCM, FCCP, founder of the alliance and a professor and chief of the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School, said that ivermectin “is a safe drug that is exceedingly cheap.”
"He added that “what is truly remarkable — this was a gift to us — ivermectin has high activity against COVID-19.”"In a press conference, researchers said that ivermectin is an FDA-approved anti-parasitic drug that has been available for approximately 40 years and previously earned researchers a Nobel Prize.
"Ivermectin is a key factor in the alliance’s I-MASK+ protocol for prophylaxis and early treatment of outpatients with COVID-19."
I won't derail this thread. If there is interest, it could be a new thread.

Used your daughter as an example this past week...On another board in a different universe, one of the members is a pastor in SW Mississippi. He had a pretty good round with COVID about four or five months ago. Every time he thinks he's doing well enough to do some strenuous work in his garden or around the house, he gets knocked back down. Last time was bad enough for a steroid shot and a Z-pack.
He can preach. He can pastor. He just can't do the physical work he would like to do. He's past the point of frustrated.
I just reminded him, there are lots of people in the same boat. Some people that are much younger and were pretty healthy until COVID came along. That have the same frustrations. That find some help in talking with other long-haulers within their support group.
People who occasionally have to be reminded to take it one day at a time...

Word finding. Something that I feel is more difficult for me than it was before we got sick. And sometimes the wrong word comes out. I keep brushing it off as age, but then I read about the long hauler symptoms and I wonder. More migraines than before too. And losing track off/forgetting things I just did. (Like where I put stuff). Could be unrelated.

I've heard of the brain fog problem, as well as what D2 and Jodi describe. How frustrating this all is, and worrisome in many ways. It makes one question whether other thought processes are impared, and if one should delay making big decisions for a long period. Let's hope these are temporary effects that eventually will disappear, but in the meantime, it's both disturbing and annoying.
