This one is tricky. I have not seen the show, but I believe it was intended as condemnation of these pageants. If the events shown were public and not charged at the time I'm not quite sure how Netflix can be charged for it. It would seem that the original perpetrators should be the ones charged if anyone.

Was this movie given a rating? Isn't there a system in place to determine whether things are fit for public consumption?

If not, why not? I haven't seen this movie, and have no wish to, but surely there should be a process to deal with this sort of thing that doesn't involve lawsuits?

      I was only joking

This ain't a lawsuit. This is a criminal indictment.

No jail time, but could be some decent fines...

OK, shouldn't there be a process to deal with this sort of thing that doesn't involve criminal indictments?

                  There's the TV Parental Guidelines.

To be honest, this indictment looks like grandstanding. Almost everybody would agree that promoting pedophilia is a very bad idea, but not permitting documentaries showing what goes on in the world seems over-bearing, and quite likely counter-productive.

The double-standards exhibited by TV censorship are already rather ridiculous. People brand sex and violence together as though they're somehow related or similar - a link which in itself could be seen as extremely rather damaging, but then permit no end of the most horrendous violence to be shown (and frequently glorified), but people reach for their smelling salts at the sight of a female nipple, unless of course it's shown as part of a decapitated torso.

I think there is a danger in strangling pieces that try to expose, which I believe this does.

                      OTOH, you have a point.
