In a honest moment who would have bet both Christie and Trump would have done so well against Covid. The real question is why is that so surprising.
Since only between 97% and 99.75% of people do this well

Will be interesting to see were IFR falls at it continues to drop as we realize more people have had Covid without knowing.

Chris Christie, after seven days in ICU, has something to say:
"I believed that when I entered the White House grounds, that I had entered a safe zone, due to the testing that and I and many others underwent every day. I was wrong. I was wrong to not wear a mask at the Amy Coney Barrett announcement and I was wrong not to wear a mask at my multiple debate prep sessions with the President and the rest of the team," Christie said in a statement obtained by NBC News.
.
"Every public official, regardless of party or position, should advocate for every American to wear a mask in public, appropriately socially distance and to wash your hands frequently every day. At the same time, we should be reopening in every corner of this nation under these guidelines," Christie said. -

Makes sense. Somewhere I read that if the US had 100% mask "compliance", the COVID could be knocked down in 8 weeks.

If, as is being reported, Chris Christie spent 7 days in the ICU he didn't do that well at all.

In March, it would have been much worse.

Yes, the big improvements in treating this are very welcome, but there still seems to be a tendency to downplay the danger.
I hope Christie doesn't suffer any long term effects.

Yeah, apparently he's not going to quarantine.
DaFuq?
Also Kamala Harris's director of communications tested positive about 10 days ago. Forgot to mention that one, I think.

Reckless towards their campaign staff, the security personnel, and their own supporters. Wonder if there will civil law suits after the election coming out of all these campaign events that flout public health guidelines.

He's 61. Not scary, but not a slam dunk either.
But he'll probably get Regeneron's antibody cocktail

UPDATE: he says he DOES NOT have covid, but that he tested positive for the antibodies. Said he has "no clue" when he might have had it, but never had symptoms.
