Let's jump on the conspiracy bandwagon. I know how much those of you on the Right just love a good conspiracy theory.
Many believe this is all just a ploy to gain sympathy votes for his sinking ship. Since every other word out of his mouth is a lie, I wouldn't put it past him to concoct this whole scheme, claiming he and his wife have the virus when they really don't. So watch what happens in the next couple weeks. If this theory is true, the scenario I predict is that he won't have serious symptoms at all, will claim to be taking hydroxycloriquine again, and emerge healthy as a bug in no time. This will give him more sway to the cult regarding the seriousness of covid. It's his last ditch chance to save his reelection, which has virtually no chance at this point, even when he calls fraud after the results.
Personally, I have no opinion on whether this is true or not, but again, I wouldn't put it past him. He is the most amoral man one could ever encounter. Rick - I don’t think it’s even feasible. It’s not good for him for people to be talking virus virus virus. He wants them to talk about law and order and riots. Secondly, he’d have to enlist dozens If not hundreds of serious people at Walter Reed to make that work. There’s no way he can just see the Demon Semen doc or the Bakersfield quack and call it a day.

When Bo-Jo got it, a lot of Brits on FB were saying it was a fake. There was some really hateful stuff being posted then, as well, mostly by lefties, but also by some of the more "libertarian" Brits - they tend to be very, very right wing, social darwinism types. Disgusting bunch, by and large.
The saddest thing for me was seeing Britons who appeared completely incapable of appreciating the irony of their posts when they described Johnson as hating people.
We lost the empire, now we're losing our sense of irony? Why not just start saying aloominum and be bloody done with it?

Stock market hasn't reacted much to this at all. The index are higher today than they were at the beginning of the week.
I don't think Trump was planning on doing anything that'd move the market before the election.
Any election uncertainty is already built in.

The market was down 300 at the open and nearly 400 in pre market so there was obviously big concern that was mitigated. Plus we heard again national security risk.
