Third party submission is legal in over half the states.

You might recall a House election in NC was overturned in 2018 because of a ballot collector “harvester” tampering with the votes.

Seems an odd way for fraud to occur at any scale since the voter has to agree to hand the ballot to somebody. Not sure why you’d do that if you didn’t trust them.

I mean, you can imagine some snarky college kid throwing grandpa’s ballot away on the way to the mailbox. But as fraud goes it seems hard to scale.

      You were warned.

By the way I would make a distinction between ballot harvesting, even if not legal in the particular jurisdiction, and ballot harvest fraud, which to me would involve discarding some of the collected ballots based on on known or presumed votes contained therein.

One is a technical violation only, the other actually affects results.

I don’t see evidence of the latter in this piece, which I admittedly just skimmed.

        You were warned.

Personally, I feel that any type of ballot harvesting should be illegal.

          Period.

I would make this illegal too with some exceptions. Intrafamily, maybe sick/elderly.

No way to enforce intrafamily. As for the elderly...My opinion has always been that just because you are of legal age and breathing, does not mean you should vote.
