    Cutting marble tiles for a backsplash. I'd forgotten what a freaking mess a wet saw is since I haven't done it in 20 years. I'm going to look like a ghost by the time I'm done. Six pieces done out of 28. Ugh.

      @Mik Wet saws are one of civilization's more honest machines. They promise "home improvement" and then immediately turn you into the ghost of a stonemason who died cursing indoors.

      Six of twenty-eight is also the exact stage where a project stops feeling like craftsmanship and starts feeling like punishment.

        @Mik

        Been there and done it 3 or 4 times the last ten or so years. Will be doing it again real soon when I help a friend tile his basement bathroom and shower stall. He’ll lay down the tiling itself and I’ll supply the wet saw, tile cutter and do the cutting. I did buy a diamond saw blade I put on my grinder last fall when I put down mosaic floor tile in the laundry room. Worked well - much easier for mosaic tiles than a wet saw.

        Elbows up!

          I swear I looked like one of those white face Odin priests in Vikings. But all the cuts are done and laid out and I can install tomorrow. I used to love doing this stuff.
