This was very weird news for me to read today. Literally just yesterday, which turned out to be the day he died, I noticed his memoir on my shelf and thought to myself ‘I think he turns 100 this year’, having remember for some odd reason that he was born in 1926. I briefly considered posting about it here and also looking up what other well known figures from public life are or will be 100 this year.

He was 100 and they list the cause of death as complications of Parkinson’s. I wonder if they ever list a cause of death as “really old”. At 100, when you’ve beaten so many odds, seems like cause of death isn’t important, but maybe we need the statistics.

He was born the same year as my dad. Had he not smoked I'm pretty sure he would have outlived Greenspan.

I kind of liked him. He kept the economy strong (I don't know if he really did that--but it looked like it) and my generation did ok by him.

I had no idea he was still alive.

              I love you long time.

The only high school teacher I ever had who was memorable was my economics teacher. He said Reagan was not the most powerful man in the world. Greenspan was.

Cool that you had Econ in high school. I was never introduced to a supply and demand curve until 101 in college.

he was actually legendary in my high school. The hardest teacher or whatever. The legend perhaps made me listen harder. I don't even remember his name, but that's on me.
