This was very weird news for me to read today. Literally just yesterday, which turned out to be the day he died, I noticed his memoir on my shelf and thought to myself ‘I think he turns 100 this year’, having remember for some odd reason that he was born in 1926. I briefly considered posting about it here and also looking up what other well known figures from public life are or will be 100 this year.

He was 100 and they list the cause of death as complications of Parkinson’s. I wonder if they ever list a cause of death as “really old”. At 100, when you’ve beaten so many odds, seems like cause of death isn’t important, but maybe we need the statistics.

He was born the same year as my dad. Had he not smoked I'm pretty sure he would have outlived Greenspan.
