Whats going on over there with this social media law?

Is this really about protecting kids? Or stopping anonymous speech to be able to punish people for wrongthink?

It's about protecting kids under 16 years old. From addiction, grooming, exploitation, fraud.

Will be interesting to see how the law is effected and policed.

The way online fraud has increased surely we all need protection of sorts.
I attempt to keep my online presence to a minimum.
But we need phones, credit cards and purchases, bills paid, email. And leisure forums?

Seems like it's a very popular measure amongst Brits, although perhaps not with those who are under 16.

        I was only joking

Is it just under 16? I thought I heard something about a YouTube curfew for 16 and 17 year olds.

The other thing I have seen a great increase in is online panhandling. Soft hearted people fall for it.
