I enjoyed the first 3 seasons of "For All Mankind" on Apple TV. The last two have gotten a bit too soapy and pointless. Though not bad, and still very watchable, not up to the standard of seasons 1-3.

"Star City" is the counterfactual spinoff. Set in 1969, it reimagines the first moon landing, by a Soviet cosmonaut, the first woman on the moon and other ... interesting things.

However, where it shines, at least in the first two episodes, is showing the utter corruption of the Soviet Union in the late 1960s. The constant eavesdropping on cosmonauts (and others), the need to be "politically correct" (when the phrase had a wholly different meaning), and the carelessness with which missions were cobbled together.

First two episodes available now. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
