Never forget, this is where Biden wants to take the COUNTRY.

I think it is a goofy idea.

Though electric cars do produce less emissions than gas cars "wheel to wheel", but I do think that there should be a choice.

          Let me see...

It's bad to drive a car that burns fossil fuels.
          The solution is electric cars.
          Which uses electricity..
          Generated from coal..
          A fossil fuel..
          Which it stores in batteries...
          Made using rare earth materials..
          Which pollute more than gasoline...

          Got it.

What would we do if we didn't have the superior democrats to take care of us....

Their reasoning is that the pollution won't be in California.

@Jolly good thing that California has all that open space for the unicorn farms - because that's where electricity comes from, right?

Until this year, Toyota Camry was the best-selling new car in California, followed by the Honda Accord, and the Nissan Altima. The Tesla actually managed to unseat the Camry this year, but if you add the Camry, Accord, Altima, and other mid-size sedans in the $25K starting MSRP range, you will see that is still the largest market for new car sales. Not really surprising...

EV's with similar cargo and sitting space are starting off at around $43,000. So, are Californians going to make an $18K jump to go EV or are they going to go heavier into the used market? My bet is heavier into the used market. And used cars do not get as good of mileage as new cars. They burn more oil, they burn more gas, and require more part replacements.

On top of that, as has been discussed MANY times before, they simply don't have the grid capacity in California WITHOUT all of these EV's running around...

I do not mind EVs. I do not mind Hybrids. I would gladly consider getting a Hybrid for my daily runner.

If you mandate that a new car must be an EV? Then I am going to buy a 69 Camaro SS getting 6.9MPG and sit in front of your office all day leaving the engine running...

And...part of the problem are some of the devices used on cars today. I can see where California might want vehicles that pollute a little less, but...

A friend of mine came by the house yesterday in his Ford F250. He bought the truck used, about two months ago. Truck got 16mpg, mixed. After he had the truck bullet-proofed (go read up on that, it's fascinating), with a less restrictive exhaust, his mileage improved to 20mpg.

Maybe the real result will be that people will drive to Nevada or Arizona to do car shopping.
