Some neosporin/benadryl might take care of that itch...
SRSLY, though, that's a good looking dog. Any history?

Three years old, very loving and playful, lots of energy, not particularly alpha.

My personal preference is to start with a puppy but it all depends on individual preference. For every reason I could give you, I could see a counter argument.
Regardless a pet is an amazing thing to have if you can give it a good life and it doesn’t impact travel.
Pets have to be at the top of things one can do for mental health.

Travel.
Fuck the travel.
Get the dog.
A house is not a home without a dog.
