    https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2026/03/23/trump-east-coast-wind-farms-pay-france/

Trump administration to pay $1 billion to stop two East Coast wind farms

The Interior Department reached a settlement to pay France’s TotalEnergies not to pursue two offshore wind farms but direct the investments toward fossil fuels.

Someone please explain why this is a good idea.

Because Trump doesn’t like wind farms and his happiness is paramount.

The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.

Wind farms suck, but offshore wind farms even more so. They are absolutely destroying marine life, the maintenance and repair issues are compounded exponentially because of their location, they utilize incredibly high levels of rare earths that require over extensive carbon investment to extract, and most of their broken old components aren’t recyclable. They are a 1970s wet dream that turned out exactly like most wet dreams of the 70s.

Trump’s mistake is pushing oil… Go Nuclear, baby!

None of the things you mention are motivating Trump.

The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.
