    https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-save-america-act-voter-id-4039cefa

“The requirement for individuals to show citizenship proof in person, for example, “can be daunting in Alaska,” where many people live in communities that aren’t on the road system, Murkowski said in an opinion article last month. “Under this bill, registering to vote could mean purchasing plane tickets and securing lodging and transportation, at a personal cost of hundreds to thousands of dollars,” she wrote.”

She doesn't oppose the requirement to show ID to vote, but she opposes the requirement to show ID in-person to register to vote.

Showing ID and proving citizenship are vastly different things. Most people don’t have a passport.

The other odd thing is, if only people with passports voted the republicans would never win an election.

It makes me wonder if they’re believing their own memes about hundreds of thousands of illegals committing self-documenting federal crimes just because. Or if his plan is actually to control through the bureaucracy who can get proof of citizenship before November or at all.

Not long ago they stripped most libraries of the ability to accept passport applications, for example.

The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.

I think that if they narrow the bill to show ID for voting and take out the citizenship to register, it will get a lot more votes
