        The part that says "to address legal requirements" sniffs of some resentment towards the policy, at least by whomever crafted the memo.

        Education is extremely important.

          It’s probably illegal under Ontario law but it is definitely unconstitutional. It will be challenged and Waterloo will have to retract.

          Edit: I see the posting is dated June 2025. I’ll see if I can find out where this went.

            Because it is a closed internal competition Waterloo is free to specify and give preference to gender, race etc. in the job postings.

            I don’t agree with it, but that is how it rolls in Ontario. I know the Catholic school boards here in Alberta openly require its teachers to be attested and practicing Catholics. Near to impossible for a non Catholic to teach in their schools.
