I watched a lot of children's TV program, and consequently can remember a few child actors.

Jennette McCurdy is among the few I remember. I very much enjoyed the iCarly series, in which McCurdy played sidekick to the titular character. After the series ended, McCurdy pretty much dropped off the entertainment scene (in my estimation, this happened to most child stars). Now, many years later, I learn that she has become an accomplished writer. Her memoir sold 4 million copies, now an NY Times reviewer calls McCurdy a "literary heavyweight" as she reviews McCurdy's new debut novel.

At a young age of 33, McCurdy still has a long way to go, but I suppose this is one of the better outcomes for "former child stars."

I can't read the article, but I seem to remember she had a lot of problems with eating disorders, alcoholism, and a truly horrendous mother pushing her.

      I was only joking
