A FB friend of mine is a gigging musician in the UK, and hasn't played live since March.

Yep. I have a FB friend in NOLA. She finally did a live concert last Saturday.
She and an assorted group of musicians do "Live from the Living Room" pretty much every Monday night. They set up a virtual tip jar, and I Venmo some bucks when I watch.
Sometimes it's not "Live from the Living Room" but "Live from Satan's Attic."

I have a couple friends in the Virginia Symphony Chorus. Recently they were wondering if the organization would survive.
Here is a story from last week about VA Symphony furloughs

Yeah. She and I have become pretty good FB friends - we exchange a message at least once a week. The trumpet player is the guitarist's dad.
I look forward to her stuff every week. You never know who she's going to be playing with, tho Stoo (yes, "Stoo") the bass player is there almost every time.
You know the unwritten law of live music?
"If a band has an upright bass, you know it's going to be good."

Even more important than an upright bass, is an upright bass player.
Sometimes harder to find....
