There used to be second amendment types that would argue that carrying a weapon was not a reason in itself for cops to tackle you, let alone shoot you. I’m not sure if any of those guys are still around.

Sounds like there’s a few just not in the GOP.

The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.

              Good grief 😔

Why did this man go armed to a peaceful protest?
Why did he not simply do as directed and get off the public road? Why not even after pepper sprayed by an officer?
Actively interfering with law officers' duties.
Why did he not simply comply with law officers instructions?

Why did he continue to resist arrest by multiple officers, even when restraining him on the ground?
Why did he(attempt to) stand up?

Why did the officers not give him an extra second to get back on the pavement?
I cannot hear, but why did so many officers suddenly rush to the spot.
Why when his gun was removed were the other officers not clearly informed?
Why did he attempt to stand(continue resisting), why was he shot in the back by an officer when attempting to stand?
              Screenshot_20260125-071740_DuckDuckGo.jpg

Clearly not a defensive shot, the officer needs to go on trial.
The incompetence of the law officers beggers belief. To talk and de-escalate; and to restrain efficiently.
The stupidity of the man also.

So many questions, clearly neither public nor law officers have learnt much from the previous incident.

Someone made a good point. If DHS and ICE really thought these killings were justified, they wouldn’t be doing everything in their power to stop normal-course investigations from taking place.

I think we need to see who these ICE agents really are. A while ago they were just another random government police bureaucracy, now they seem to be a traveling circus of terror and death. Are these guys professional, well trained employees of ICE or do we have a bunch recently hired undertrained, gun toting, "get 'er done" types trying to enforce the law by any means necessary?

You’d get absolute majorities signing up for that.

Trump tacitly agrees with #3. That’s why he’s leaving red state agriculture and meat packing and hotel cleaning staff alone.

But not a Senate filibuster proof majority, much less a Presidential veto-proof majority. I'd venture to say that an "absolute majority" among the GOP base voters oppose #4. You cannot even get someone like @mik to support all 4 points (he opposes #3). The electoral math is not there for an immigration reform "grand bargain."

I think number 3 is worth considering but needs more nuance. The fact that you snuck in should not be a reason you can stay.

It’s more like the fact that the economy is dependent on you is the reason you could stay. Maybe time bound so we gradually shift to more natives/legals in the jobs but over a timeframe that doesn’t shock the market.

It was six shots. Of the total of 10 that they put into the unarmed man who was already pinned down, 6 were pumped into his body from a distance as he lay face down, motionless, and alone.

                                        Two words - Kyle Rittenhouse.

Rittenhouse is not applicable here. He went down to protect his family’s business from a marauding mob. This guy went to oppose law enforcement he did not agree with. This is not to say I’m defending the ICE agents here, but the two situations could not be more different
