    The whole reason we call them illegal aliens is because they’re subject to our laws.

      Food, shows and lodging were cheap when gambling was limited. With the proliferation of casino gambling throughout the nation they have had to raise prices of those three items to a ridiculous point. We just flew in today and I refuse to eat on the Strip. Prices are just ridiculous, so yeah, they got greedy.

        I went to a wedding there 25 years ago. I was struck by how cheap the high-end steakhouse at our hotel the Luxor was. I thought that was Vegas' business model, as Mik notes. I guess it only was the business model.

          @Horace

          If you think it was cheap then, you should have seen how cheap it was back in the 70s when the mob ran the place. More often than not you could find all you can eat Gourmet food buffets in casinos that were either $2 or sometimes free. Hotel room charges were for most part, nominal. Anything to bring patrons into the casino to gamble.

              We are at a Neapolitan pizza joint in Chinatown. This is like a 3 block little strip mall with many, many restaurants, massage parlors, etc. pizza is supposed to be great. Afterward we will go to a Tiki bar a few doors down.

              But who builds a pizza place in Chinatown?
