Read this in the WaPo this morning:
Burnell Cotlon´s grocery storeThe Post and Nat Geo did a feature on him a few years ago, and then Ellen had him on her show around that same time.
I see the GoFundMe page he created years ago is suddenly gaining a lot of donations after the recent article:

This guy´s generosity is amazing. It´s an uplifting story, and helps highlight how fortunate most of us are.

Yeah, that guy's awesome.
We don't have social programs as comprehensive as other countries with the comparable means to do so; a lot of that for us falls on individual involvement. So in my opinion, especially in a time like this, it's not so much a "good for you for helping out" as a civic responsibility. Doubly so for folks who are lucky enough to still be working.
