Read this in the WaPo this morning:
    Burnell Cotlon´s grocery store

The Post and Nat Geo did a feature on him a few years ago, and then Ellen had him on her show around that same time.

I see the GoFundMe page he created years ago is suddenly gaining a lot of donations after the recent article:

This guy´s generosity is amazing. It´s an uplifting story, and helps highlight how fortunate most of us are. ♥

      Yeah, that guy's awesome.

We don't have social programs as comprehensive as other countries with the comparable means to do so; a lot of that for us falls on individual involvement. So in my opinion, especially in a time like this, it's not so much a "good for you for helping out" as a civic responsibility. Doubly so for folks who are lucky enough to still be working.

      Please love yourself.

Yeah, some of the best solutions come from within the community.

People have donated over $10,000 since I first clicked that link this morning. Amazing!

The Ninth is a sideways mess. Some good people. Some hard-working people.

          A butt-load of trash...

Wasn't The Ninth the worst-affected area by Katrina?

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.
