Here's what's weird. If I said, "When it comes to getting better at swimming, books aren't very helpful," no one would argue with me.
But a bunch of you are about to argue with me on chess. -

I wasn't trying to be condescending, it was his point about books I quite liked. I fall into the trap of reading about stuff to improve rather than actually doing it. I have a shelf of chess books, and another one filled with guitar books, and I still suck.
