Middle aged white guy at my gym.

Doesn’t look particularly DSA. In fact if you put 50lbs on him he’d look pretty natural in a maga hat.

If you don't take it, it can only good happen.

I find that hard to believe.

Any counter-cultural against Maga will do. Details about policy can wait. You can look him up on bluesky, he posts there because he wants the world to know what he thinks. Big fan of AOC and Bernie too.

One of the third rail topics that develop behind the scenes on these forums over the long term, is offspring capture. In these hyper politicized times, that effect may be unprecedented.

Color me surprised. He used to be a centrist.

I think there’s a real danger of being politically extreme in your youth and in your old age… You get more fed up with the other side and you become more intractable. The anger thing is real and can even push you to new extreme positions so long as it’s against the other side.

Jolly is no centrist, but he’s moved into MAGA positions that I think he would have argued against 20 years ago. I think it’s mostly due to being pissed off at how he perceives conservatives were treated over the past 30 years…

I've been told that if I refuse to support either side then that makes me a nihilist.

The really funny part is that it was intended as an insult.

                    I was only joking
